While the holiday season means time spent with family and friends, good food and, of course, festive desserts, it can also be the perfect time for your kids to put their crafting skills to good use.
If you have little ones who love to make holiday crafts, you may want to check out Home Depot’s upcoming workshop on Dec. 7, where your child can make a free Christmas countdown calendar.
With help from parents and store associates, kids will develop hands-on skills in sanding, nailing and applying stickers. And because the countdown calendar uses blocks, your child can easily change the calendar on their own every day as they count down to what some say is the most wonderful time of the year.
The Christmas countdown calendar workshop is Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., but you should probably register now to ensure your child’s spot.
All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, of course, plus they’ll receive a free certificate of achievement, a workshop apron and a commemorative pin, while supplies last.
If the hustle and bustle of the season mean you can’t make it to the Christmas countdown workshop, you can easily make one at home instead. Check out this fun list of 11 advent calendar ideas or follow the instructions for this DIY Christmas block countdown by See Vanessa Craft.
If your children are into sports instead, the next free workshop is happening on Saturday, Jan. 4. In the first workshop of the new year, kids can make a mini hockey game, which is sure to entertain them both as they make it and also later on, while playing it.
Will you be taking your little ones to Home Depot to create a free Christmas countdown?
