Could you use a vacation? Do you know someone else who could, too? If so (and I’m assuming the answer to both questions is yes…), you’ll want to note that the Belize Tourism Board is giving away free trips in observance of National Plan for Vacation Day.
The holiday was created by the U.S. Travel Association to urge Americans to start planning their vacations early to avoid unused paid time off, so the Belize Tourism Board is offering contest winners a trip for themselves and another one as a gift to one of their co-workers.
For your chance to win the Belize Tourism Board “Guilt Trip” Official Sweepstakes, just head to their website by Feb. 18 to fill out a form with your name and email and the name of the co-worker you’re nominating. Then, explain why you both deserve a trip to Belize.
According to the U.S. Travel Association, 55% of Americans don’t use all of their vacation days and 56% say their heavy workloads prevent them from taking a vacation. So, in your entry, the Belize Tourism Board also wants you to explain why you feel guilty when taking a vacation.
“With so much to see and do in Belize, there is no time to waste feeling guilty about work,” Karen Bevans, director of tourism for the Belize Tourism Board, said in a statement. “Too many travelers feel indebted to the colleagues who make their time away from work possible. What better way to enjoy a guilt-free Belizean getaway than to reward those same colleagues with a free trip of their own?”
Three winners will be chosen for a five-day trip for two to Belize, plus three more nominated co-workers.
All trips include round-trip international airfare to Belize City for two, a four-night hotel stay, ground/local transportation between the airport and the hotel and one in-country tour or activity. The approximate retail value of one prize package is $10,000. You should be available for travel between Mar. 15-May 15, 2020. You can read the full terms and conditions by visiting the Belize Tourism Board’s website.
Will you be entering for your chance to win a trip and gift one to a co-worker?
