MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Two areas of interest reside Atlantic waters. More details on each area are below:

Starting in the Caribbean, an area of disturbed weather is expected to develop low pressure at the surface as it moves into the Yucatán Peninsula and the Bay of Campeche (SW Gulf of Mexico) soon after. This system may be in a favorable environment for development into a tropical depression by then. Because of this, the National Hurricane Center has given this disturbance a 60% chance of tropical development within five days.

In the East/Central Atlantic, a tropical wave southwest of the Cape Verde islands has a 40% chance of tropical development in the next five days.

More updates on these systems will be available later this afternoon.
