MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

The retreat of yesterday's slow-moving front has allowed ideal conditions for scattered to numerous thunderstorms to quickly form earlier today.  Several spots of heavy rain, frequent lightning, and occasional gusts continue in the early evening, especially in south Georgia and the Suwannee River Valley.  A few storms may clash and become briefly stronger, with a slight chance for small hail to form for a short time.  Storminess will diminish late tonight, but scattered clouds and moisture will be left over, leading to mild lows around 70°.  A few hours of heating will allow showers and storms to blossom again in the afternoon Friday.  Extra clouds may slow the warming, possibly keeping highs in the mid 80s to around 90°.  More of this scattered storm action is forecast for the weekend with ample amounts of moisture around.  However, severe storm potential will remain somewhat limited.
