Storm Team Sunday evening forecast (05/19/13)

Posted

A few storms that pop up this afternoon in South Georgia / Northeast Florida may become severe before 7pm.  The biggest concern at this point is winds greater than 60 mph and hail larger than 1".  Temperatures stay mild tonight only falling into the mid 60s.  Tomorrow, expect one or two more storms as well with temperatures once again nearing 90°. This summery, afternoon pop-up storm weather pattern continues for most of the week.  Temperatures will be close to 90° every day and morning lows will only bottom out in the mid to upper 60s. Because of this warm overnight trend, patchy fog will become a persistent issue as well.  Concerning the chance of rain and storms, Monday and Tuesday, expect isolated events to occur and on Wednesday and Thursday, more scattered activity can be expected. For next weekend however, we look like we transition back into an isolated storm or two.
