Storm Team Friday morning forecast (07/05/2013)

Posted

An area of tropical moisture has left the Florida Panhandle with high levels of rainfall, as well as some flooding in coastal regions. There is some good news. High pressure building in the Atlantic will push westward and weaken the stationary front and tropical moisture that has been parked over our region this whole week. Rain chances this afternoon still remain at 60% for this afternoon and evening. Southeasterly winds will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms into the Big Bend, North Florida, and South Georgia. Higher rain chances are expected in areas west of Leon and Wakulla counties. Afternoon temperatures will reach the lower to mid 80s today. The weekend will have slightly lower rain chances, and high temperatures will slowly climb into the lower 90s by Monday.
