Storm Team Friday evening forecast (4/18/14)

Posted

TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Moderate shower activity will continue into the overnight hours but will become more spotty in aerial coverage as the night progresses. The low pressure system that inundated us with rain on Friday will continue to spin through the Big Bend and Suwannee River Valley before pushing into the open Atlantic waters early Saturday morning.  We can expect some spotty showers tomorrow, especially in the afternoon and evening, but it won't be a washout like we saw today.  Currently, about 2-4" of rainfall has fallen around the area, and we can expect an additional inch or two by the time all is said and done Saturday night.  Temps tonight fall into the mid 50s and due to mostly cloudy skies tomorrow, we'll only push into the upper 60s for highs.  Easter Sunday looks dry and fairly seasonable though: waking up for church, temps will be in the low 50s with a sun-cloud mix which will transition into more sunshine by the afternoon and highs rebounding into the upper 70s. We return to a more tranquil forecast starting on Sunday through the rest of the 7 day period with the only threat of rain coming Tuesday afternoon.
