Storm Team Wednesday evening forecast (05/22/2013)

Posted

Partly cloudy to partly sunny skies are in place during the late afternoon, with a few spots of showers and storms forming, primarily with the Atlantic seabreeze, and some western showers with an approaching disturbance over the Deep South.  We'll run a small risk for a few showers stretching into the late-night hours, with perhaps a couple of potent thunderstorms overnight in interior south Georgia as the wave of energy passes.  Rain activity will experience an overall downward trend later this week with an unusually dry air mass rolling in for the Memorial Day weekend.  Lows tonight will hover in the mid and upper 60s; Thursday's highs will rise back into the lower 90s.  Spotty heavy rain can't be ruled out, especially from U.S. 82 north early Thursday.
