Storm Team Monday evening forecast (06/24/2013)

Posted

The classic late-day scattered shower and storm pattern is slightly more enhanced, when it comes to these storms' abilities to produce heavy rain and frequent lightning.  Some areas in metro Tallahassee have received over an inch of rain around mid-afternoon, triggering concerns for localized flooding on streets and poor-drainage areas.  Use caution on the evening commute.  Other scattered storms are massing near the tri-state zone with the same heavy downpour potential.  Severe chances tonight are quite low.  Lows will fall into the 70s overnight, then temps climb quickly into the upper 80s to lower 90s before showers and storms form once more.  A slight decrease in rain coverage is forecast for midweek before more unsettledness returns by Friday.
