Storm Team Friday evening forecast (04/26/2013)

Posted

A pleasantly clear sky dominates the region this evening and through the early portions of the night ahead, thanks to the high-pressure system across the Southeast driving in the dry air and stable atmosphere.  Overnight lows will fall into the 50s, then level off by sunrise as east and southeast winds trigger a return of moisture and scattered clouds.  A broad low-pressure disturbance over the southern Plains will advance toward the Deep South, spreading cloudiness and showers as far as the tri-state region Saturday afternoon.  Highs are still likely to reach the low and middle 80s, and rain accumulation will be limited.  The low and its cold front inch closer by Sunday, and more local area run a better chance for occasional showers and a thunderstorm.
