Storm Team Friday evening forecast (12/20/2013)

Posted

The warming trend became most obvious this afternoon, and it’ll be a struggle for temperatures to fall anywhere close to average overnight.  Scattered clouds are present with a little more moisture around, and we’ll maintain periods of passing clouds mixed with sun on Saturday.  Tonight’s lows will fall to only around 60° with some upper 50s possible early.  Southerly winds will increase as a cold front slowly advances into the Deep South from the southern Plains.  An isolated shower is possible late tomorrow afternoon, but the bulk of our rain opportunities will be delayed until late Sunday through Monday, with areas of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms.  Temperatures return to average Christmas Eve with a clearing trend leading into Christmas.
