LENOX, GA (WTXL) - 10 cows were killed Tuesday evening after lightning struck a nearby tree in Cook County. According to witnesses, eight dairy cows, one calf and a herd bull were found dead after a storm rolled through.

Storms grew in intensity around 5:30 pm Tuesday for our far northern communities and produced multiple lightning strikes, though none of the storms were severe.

More storms are expected on Wednesday. If you see lightning or hear thunder, head indoors. Once you hear the last rumble of thunder, stay put for thirty minutes until going back outside.
