Woman missing since 1975 found alive

Posted

LOWELL, MA (WHDH/CNN) – Flora Stevens' husband dropped her off for a doctor's appointment in upstate New York 42 years ago. But when he returned, she was gone, and had missing for more than four decades.

Then in September of this year investigators caught a break, WHDH reports.

Stevens, 78, now has dementia and is living in an assisted-living facility. She was using the last name Harris when she was tracked down.

Flora's medical records may provide some insight into her life over the decades. But there is no information on her life between August 1975, and the present time, officials say.

The medical records only go back roughly 30 years, not all the way to the time of her disappearance. Her husband is deceased.
