(CNN) - Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is not planning on retiring anytime soon.

Ginsburg was asked about retirement at a recent Virginia event, and said she intends to stay on the job as long as she can.

Ginsburg is 84 years old and has been asked numerous times about her future plans.

She said she used to say she expected to stay as long as Justice Brandeis, who stayed for 23 years after being appointed at the age of 60.

But Ginsburg said she can't say that anymore, since she's already surpassed Brandeis' time on the bench.
