GLASSELL PARK, CA (KCAL/KCBS/CNN) - You've heard it before: "Neither rain nor snow nor dark of night," will stop the Postal Service from its rounds. But what about a hail of bullets?
A Los Angeles neighborhood is not receiving mail because of recent gunfire. The Postal Service has posted signs telling residents of the decision.
Meanwhile, residents are gathering their correspondence at a nearby station. “It’s a little bit frustrating, especially working two jobs and trying to go to school, “ said Christian Rubio, a neighborhood resident.
The post office will start delivering mail to the affected areas after its investigation has been concluded.
A postal worked had to run and duck for cover in June, and the mail carrier’s truck was hit by shots.
