WASHINGTON, DC (WJLA/CNN) - A possible food poisoning incident sent dozens of people to the hospital in Washington, DC.
Officials were called to the Harrington Hotel to respond to a group of mostly teenagers that had come from New York.
Authorities say some of the victims were sick before they got to the Nation's Capital.
A spokesman for the DC Fire and Emergency Services Department said officials don't believe the illnesses started in Washington, because some had symptoms before arriving.
New York City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene are looking into where the group may have gotten sick on Sunday.
Fifty-one people were transported to hospital after food poisoning, some out of precaution. All of those affected are reported to be in stable condition.
The group consisted of 48 teenagers and three adults.
