(RNN) - Zuri Copeland and Jia Sarnicola are best friends who live in Miami who do everything together and insist they’re twins.

Born two days apart, they had a joint birthday party back in June to celebrate turning 4 – dressed alike, of course.

Recently at another friend’s birthday party, a girl told Jia there was no way she and Zuri could be sisters because they didn’t have the same color skin.

Zuri is black and Jia is white.

Jia started to cry, yet responded with grace.

"You don't know anything," Jia said. "We have the same birthday and we share the same soul."

Zuri’s older sister, Victoria Williams, took to Twitter to express how proud she was of the two girls, and how impressed she was with Jia’s response.

"They were crying, but they were defending each other," Williams told BuzzFeed. "It was so sweet."
