(RNN) - An elderly woman passed out in an Evans, GA, Walmart because she became dizzy from blood-thinners she was taking.

Brittany McKee, a registered nurse, saw her fall and went over to help. Store employees flocked to help. She encouraged the woman to sit up, but she was still dizzy, and it was difficult.

That’s when the store manager Jason Lewis got down on the ground to hold her up. Without hesitation he sat down on the floor and she leaned on him as he supported her back, according to WRDW/WAGT.

“He literally got down on the floor to serve her,” McKee wrote in a Facebook post that has been shared more than 43,000 times since Thursday. “Not because he was asked to do it, he wasn’t. But because he wanted to.”

McKee was moved, especially in light of the divisions in our country that have played out in the media.

“The media shows our country divided, filled with hate and racial tension, but this right here was one human being loving and serving another without condition of race or obligation,” she wrote.

While they waited for the ambulance, she said another man stopped, knelt down, and prayed over the woman.

“What I experienced today was love, kindness and serving,” McKee said. “We are human beings, each and every one of us regardless of how much pigmentation our skin has or doesn’t have."

When Lewis heard the story had sparked interest around the world, he said he was humbled, and he didn't think he had done anything out of the ordinary.

"That's how my parents do it," Lewis told the station. "I just wanted to live a good life and that's one of the results of it, being able to render help when it's actually needed."

He didn't know McKee had taken the picture, but she knew this was a story she had to tell.

"I couldn’t help but share,” she wrote. “Because the media doesn’t seem to report this.”

Well, we do. And we agree with Brittany McKee that unity, love for each other, and positive stories are always worth reporting.
