VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Valdosta State football team will hold try-outs on Saturday, May 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the VSU Athletic Fieldhouse.
This will be the only open tryout for the 2013 season and is open to current and potential Valdosta State studnets.
Check-in and registration for the try-outs will begin at 1:30 p.m. and are open to high school seniors, junior college players and current VSU students.
Anyone interested in participating must do the following:
- Fill out and return the Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement (The form MUST be notarized and insurance information MUST be up-to-date and accurate. For those under 18 years of age, a parent/guardian must sign the Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement.
- Screening for Sickle Cell Trait with lab confirmation. (NCAA Requirement)
- Have an up-to-date unofficial transcript
- Physical Form (All tryout participants MUST have had an athletic physical administered within six months prior to the tryout.) (NCAA Requirement) Physical forms are NOT provided by VSU's athletic department. For current VSU students athletic physicals are no longer provided by Valdosta State's Student Health Services.
All paperwork must be submitted to Debi Frocks in the VSU Football Office no later than Wednesday, May 15th at 1:00 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! Paperwork will NOT be accepted the day of the tryout!!! Paperwork can be hand carried to the football office, located at 605 West Marry Street, mailed (1500 N. Patterson St., Valdosta, GA 31698), faxed to 229-245-2494 or emailed to football@valdosta.edu.
