Valdosta State Hosts West Georgia For Bragging Rights and A Lot More

Posted

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - There is a big one in Winnersville Saturday night, and there's a lot on the line for it too.

The Peach Basket, the Gulf South Championship, a bye in the play-offs, an undefeated season and bragging rights are all up for grabs as the Valdosta State Blazers host rival West Georgia.

Head coach Kerwin Bell said his guys are pretty juiced up to play in this one.

"There's a lot of college players who play and they don't get the chance to play in a conference Championship game, the last game of the year against a really good football team who's also undefeated," he said. "That's a challenge. That's something you look forward to and our guys are excited about that challenge to see where we're all out. They're going to be good, and we're going to be good, and now let's go put a great football game on the feild and see who comes out the winner."

Saturday's game kicks off at 7:00 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium. It can be watched on ESPN3.
