Tallahassee, Fla (WTXL) --- For the first time in the modern era of the Babe Ruth League, three Tallahassee-Leon teams are celebrating state titles. The 13 and under, 14 and under, and 15 and under teams all won state titles over the weekend.
"The TLBR has a long 62 year tradition of excellence and has taken much pride in representing the greater Tallahassee area in the Babe Ruth International league," Neal Evans league treasurer said via a facebook post. "There are 43 boys with parents and coaches in town that are forming life-long memories."
The 15U team won 3-2 over Lafayette. The 14U team defeated Fernandina Beach 12-2. The 13U team topped Fort Caroline 3-0. Jay Brown hit a homerun for the 13U team and AJ Thorp tossed a complete game shutout striking out four batters. All three teams advance to Southeast Regional beginning on July 26th.
