TALLAHASSEE, Fl. — The Florida A&M football team is looking for a new opponent for September 12th, after their game against Southern was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The New York Times first reported the cancellations, and officials with FAMU have confirmed that Southern canceled the game. According to the The Advocate, a newspaper out of Baton Rouge, Southern has canceled two games this season, the September 12th match-up with the Rattlers and a game against Tennessee State on September 5th.
Southern athletic director Roman Banks says plans to cancel both games aren't finalized yet, but officials with FAMU confirmed that the Rattlers are trying to find a replacement game and will hopefully know the opponent in a couple of weeks.
