TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State men's basketball coach Leonard Hamilton has added 6-foot-8 power forward Philip Cofer to his roster. Cofer, a senior at Whitewater High School in Fayetteville, GA, is ESPN's No. 56 overall high school prospect in the country.

"We are excited to add Phil to our roster," said head coach Leonard Hamilton. "He is a strong player who allows us to become a better team. His athleticism, his motor and his ability to score and rebound the basketball will allow him to be successful in our system. Phil fits in well with our players and we are looking forward to getting him on campus so he can begin to help us prepare for the upcoming season."

As a senior at Whitewater, Cofer averaged 19.3 points and 12.8 rebounds per game in 24 games.

"My desire to work with Coach Hamilton and his staff is a big reason why I am going to play at Florida State," said Cofer. "Coach Hamilton and his staff have helped players at my position improve during their careers; the progress the players before me at Florida State have made has allowed them to become really good players. I really like the system and think I can flourish at Florida State. I am really excited to get down there and get started with summer workouts."
