TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State ended a four-game losing streak in dominant fashion Sunday, beating Virginia Tech 70-54 in front of a home crowd at the Tucker Center.

The Noles (15-5, 3-4 ACC) were helped by Ivey Slaughter's double-double, as the freshman racked up 12 points and 12 rebounds, as nine of those boards came on the offensive end. Natasha Howard led the team in scoring with 17.

Virginia Tech (10-9, 0-6 ACC) committed 25 turnovers in the game, which led to 22 Florida State points.

"I thought our communication was much better on the defensive end today and it allowed us to get out in passing lanes," FSU head coach Sue Semrau said. “For both ‘Tasha and Brittany (Brown) to come up with five steals each was big in helping us get our transition going.  We felt like our back was against the wall and they practiced that way, and that helped make a difference in today’s game.”

The Seminoles next game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2 at Wake Forest.
