GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - No. 18 Florida will be without backup defensive back Nick Washington for the remainder of the season.

Washington, a freshman from nearby Jacksonville, will have surgery after re-injuring a shoulder in practice Monday. Washington previously sustained the injury in high school.

Muschamp says Washington was "really progressing well at defensive back and on special teams."

In other injury news, Muschamp says quarterback Jeff Driskel (knee), safety Marcus Maye (shoulder), cornerback Marcus Roberson (knee), left tackle D.J. Humphries (knee) and defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. (hip) should be fine for the team's Sept. 21 game against Tennessee. The Gators are off this weekend.

Muschamp wasn't as certain about right tackle Tyler Moore (ankle). Muschamp says he "probably" will be able to play against the Volunteers.
