TALLAHASSEE, FL – Andrew (Drew) Sherrod will be taking the helm of the Maclay Marauders baseball program. Sherrod has spent the last three years at Aucilla Christian as the baseball coach and teacher. In 2011, he led Aucilla to the state final four as a head coach. The following season, the Warriors made it to the Regional Finals and in 2013 were District Champions. In addition to coaching, he has been a baseball and softball skills instructor at the Southern Ball Academy for the last seven years.

Sherrod is a graduate of Aucilla where he was a three-time all-state baseball player and listed as a top 50 juniors to watch by Street and Smith in 2004. He earned a full baseball scholarship to North Florida Community College where he played infield for two years before completing his degree at Florida State University.

"I am very excited and thankful to have the opportunity to be the new head coach at Maclay. I look forward to the work that needs to be done in order to make Maclay baseball what it once was,” said Sherrod.

Sherrod, who will also be teaching health classes at Maclay, will take over a Marauder team that finished 10-18 on the season, were District runner-ups, and lost in the Regional quarterfinals to Eagle’s View. Former head coach Todd McCoy relocated to Jacksonville.
