TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Maclay Marauder volleyball team may be young, but they're good. The ladies are 4-2 on the year, with their losses coming from two time defending State Champion Sneads and 7-A Chiles.

This weekend is the perfect opportunity for the Marauders to grow, as they're teaming up with Chiles to throw the 2nd Annual "Battle of the Borders" Tournament. The event features 12 teams over two days, and whole lot of top notch volleyball from across the Panhandle and the Big Bend.

"We love big games," said junior Mary Frances Daniel. "We play so hard for big games and that keeps us going. We just want to play to the best of our ability so then we can show our fans and our team and our town that we're doing good."

"We're trying to get the sport of volleyball to grow here and it's just an adrenaline rush," said assistant coach Haley Brown. "I mean, you're playing all these different teams trying to prove yourself to all these other teams, you know, really trying to make a name for yourself."

Sneads, Pensacola Catholic, Florida High and Arnold make up Pool A and will play at Chiles High School. Chiles, Crestview, John Paul II and Milton make up Pool B and will also play at Chiles High School.

Maclay, Taylor, Clay and Wakulla make up Pool C, and will play at Maclay School. All matches start at 4:00 on Friday, and 8:00 on Saturday. After pool play on Saturday, tournament play begins, with the Championship match held at 1:00.
