TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Lincoln head football coach BJ Daniels looks to spread some Christmas cheer to kids at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital this week.
Daniels, who also played at Lincoln and in the NFL, held his first ever toy drive Sunday in Tallahassee. He's hosted celebrity basketball games in the past, as well as delivered meals to those in need, but this year he said he really wanted to focus on the kids.
"My mom's a nurse at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, so I saw one of the fliers at Lincoln and I decided so I decided I wanted to be a part of it and do something as well," he said. "The children that are in the hospitals at TMH during this time during COVID, they might have surgeries and different things like that and can't really experience a Christmas at home. I just wanted to give them something to give them a smile on their face."
Daniels said he planned to deliver the gifts Sunday or Monday.
