TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Leon County Schools District confirmed to ABC 27 Wednesday that Lawton Chiles High School football coach Kevin Pettis was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into allegations of possible athletic violations.
The district said it took action after allegations were made by parents after a meeting with Leon County Schools.
Pettis declined to provide a comment about the situation when contacted by ABC 27 Sports Director Alison Posey.
The district noted that it will contract with outside counsel to conduct the investigation and at this time, no public records are available until the end of the investigation.
The football team is scheduled to begin spring practice session next week.
