LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Lincoln Trojans have a new head coach, and it's a familiar face.
Defensive coordinator Jimmie Tyson was announced as head coach Wednesday.
He's been on staff since former head coach Quinn Gray was hired at Lincoln in 2017.
Tyson takes over from B.J. Daniels, who stepped down last week to take a job at USF.
Talking with Lincoln athletic director Joe Vallese, hiring Tyson was an easy decision. He was a finalist when Daniels was hired, and he "holds the team together."
