THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) — It’s a time of celebration in Thomasville as their own Red Hots dance team captured the GHSA class A-AA state championship this past weekend.

A monumental moment for this program who set its own standard of excellence in the sport, as it entered only its third year of sanctioned competition through the GHSA this season. The emotions from this weekend are still being felt as a journey of hard work and dedication paid off for this talented squad.

“I tried my best not to cry but it felt amazing," said Red Hots senior Caliyah Sinkfield. "When I went up there and got the trophy the guy was just talking to me and I honestly was just so overwhelmed with emotions and then when I got back to the group I just started crying because all that hard work, it meant something. We did that.”

"They’re already talking about next year. So again I’m very blessed to work with some of the most outstanding young women. And I feel very fortunate to get to do what I do because they make it all worthwhile," added head coach Alison Bundrick.
