TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) — One of the leading teams in boys track is Godby High School's 4x100 relay team. The team consists of two seniors, a junior, and a freshman.
In their first meet, last weekend, the team ran a 42.08. On Saturday, Godby hosted the annual Jesse Forbes Invitational, and the team beat their time from the week before.
Tashod Wingfield, Avery Boyd, Kenny Jenkins, and Deshawn Rucker ran the 4x100 in 41.77.
"We were like listen, we did really good but we can do way better," explained Avery Boyd, the second leg of the team. "So, we came back that Monday and started working hard. Me and him are seniors, he's a freshman, and he's a junior. So we're not running with old people, we've got younger guys that can keep up, too. We're going to keep going for years to come."
