(WTXL) — The Georgia High School Association has voted unanimously to keep all 10 football games but delay the start of the season until Sept. 4.
That's delayed two weeks from the original Aug. 21 start date.
Practice will still start on July 27, with the first day in pads set for Aug. 1.
The season will include all five weeks of the playoffs.
All other fall sports (volleyball, cross country, softball, flag football, etc.) will start when their original schedule said.
The GHSA is set to release an official statement on the decision later Monday.
