TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Florida High's Cam Brown died three years ago in November due to cancer, but those closest to him have made sure his memory lives on.
The Third Annual Cam Brown Seminole Classic kicks off Friday, a wrestling tournament where nine teams from across the state compete to kick off the season, just like Cam would have wanted.
"He was like, coach, please don't let anybody forget who I was and what I stood for and how I fought in the end," said Florida High head wrestling coach Clay Allen. "Just do that for me. Initially, I started brainstorming, how can I keep this promise? The first easy one was, well, we host a tournament every year; why not name it after him?"
That two-day Classic starts Friday and wraps up Saturday at Florida High.
