Florida High defeats Riviera Prep to win FHSAA 3A Boys Basketball State Championship

LAKELAND, Fla. (WTXL) — A boys basketball state championship is coming to Tallahassee.

The Florida High boys basketball team defeated Miami's Riviera Prep 67-66 in the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 3A Boys Basketball State Championship game Friday at RP Funding Center.

With the win, the Seminoles (21-7) secured its first state championship since 1963 and its second overall state title in boys basketball.

Tre Donaldson paced Florida State University School High with 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals, Anthony Robinson II followed with 19 points, five rebounds and three steals, while Thaddeus Burns posted 10 points and a blocked shot in the win.

Esteban Lluberes led Riviera Prep (24-7) with 28 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Friday's game was Florida High's first appearance in an FHSAA boys basketball state championship game since 1998.
