TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The early signing period for high school football players is in the books, and Chiles athlete Jalen Herring was one of our Big Bend stand-outs to make it official this week. He's headed south to Tampa to become a South Florida Bull.
Herring played everywhere for the Timberwolves, but said he'll focus on corner at USF. The recruiting process is always a grind, especially in a COVID world, and Herring said he is thankful to have to chance to continue playing.
"Very exciting, very relieving knowing that all my hard work up until now is going to pay off," he said Friday. "I'm ready to get to the next level and put in more work. Just knowing what I had put in is something they want."
Herring said he wants to study finance in college.
