TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Chiles boys basketball team is hard at work this summer, and they're making sure other kids are working hard too. This week is the second for the Chiles basketball camp, and just like any other camp, they're teaching the game as well as keeping kids active during the summer months.
The camp is for kids of all ages, as young as five and as old as fourteen. Chiles High School's boys basketball coach Rick Davis has been impressed with the turnout, and notes the camp is all about working on the basic fundamentals of the game.
"We work on shooting, dribbling, rebounding, and at the same time, the kids have fun," he said. "One of the main things is getting them out of the house, keeping them active and so they come out and just learn some basic basketball. Instead of watching it on television, being out here playing in person, learning the game, learning from players and coaches is one of the great things."
