11 players quarantined, 2 games canceled after Leon High School football player tests positive for COVID-19

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Eleven players have been quarantined and two upcoming games have been canceled after a member of the Leon High School football team tested positive for COVID-19.

A spokesperson for Leon County Schools announced the student's positive test result on Tuesday.

As part of the district's safety protocols, the Leon County Department of Health identified 11 players that will be quarantined due to possible exposure.

The Lions’ upcoming games against Rickards on Sept. 25 and Chiles on Oct. 2 have been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

The district says that Rickards and Chiles may have a game scheduled to replace the Leon game though that is to be determined at this time.
