TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Defending state champion Godby will open their 2013 football season on ESPN, as the Cougars travel to Maryland to take on the DeMatha Stags.
The game is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2nd and will be played at the University of Maryland as part of the inaugural Under Armour Brothers In Arms Classic.
Games in the classic will benefit the Brothers In Arms Foundation, created to honor of fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines. The Foundation’s mission is to provide economic assistance to existing organizations with an emphasis on educational opportunities. It also gives financial assistance directly to service members, community servants, and their families.
Godby finished last season with a 14-1 record and a FHSAA class 5A State Championship game victory, 21-20 over Immokalee.
