VALDSOTA, Ga. (WTXL) — Valdosta State women's basketball is looking to make it to the post season. The Lady Blazers are currently 17-9 on the year and 9-9 in conference play.

They fell on Senior Day to West Alabama 76-67 but still have a chance to make it to the Gulf South Conference Tournament.

VSU needs at least one more win. They have only two more regular season games to get that win, with both of those matchups being away games.

"This Thursday is going to be a huge game for us, it's going to be West Florida's senior night," explained head coach Deandra Schirmer. "So, they're going to be playing very, very hard and I know they're a tough team. They always come out and play hard every single night. So, for us, we have to match that intensity. We have a lot on the line. We're playing for that spot in the post season play."

The Lady Blazers take on West Florida Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
