VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The Valdosta State Blazers are on a school record 18 game winning streak. They look to make it 19 as they get ready to hit the road to face a Shorter team that hasn't won in four years. The Blazers, 1-0 in Gulf South play, and Shorter is just another conference opponent despite their record. In order to defend their Gulf South title, Valdosta State can't overlook anyone, and head coach Gary Goff is stressing that one game at a time mentality.

"We all know this is arguably one of the best conferences in the country," he said. "If you can come out of this conference as conference champions, you have a great chance of going really far in the playoffs. Obviously that's our gaol. Really happy for these young men, the work they've put in, the coach in me, if we just get this much better, it'd be a lot of fun!"

Valdosta State's match-up with the Hawks is set for a 6:00 kick-off on Saturday.
