TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Like all winter and spring sports, the Tallahassee Community College men's basketball team didn't have a chance to see how they'd finish. Heading into this year, there's a lot of hype about how they're beginning.

The Eagles are ranked third in the nation in the National Junior College Athletic Association's preseason polls released Tuesday afternoon, their highest ranking since coming in 3rd in 1999. Along with the national preseason ranking, TCC sits at number one in the state rankings as they get ready to begin their season Wednesday. It's flattering, but they know, there's a lot of work to do.

"I think our guys are laser focused knowing we're going to get everybody's best shot every year," said head coach Zach Settembre. "Last year we were the under dog a little bit, now we're the hunted. Now people know we have great players, we have a great culture, we're proud of that. I think we're going to get everybody's best. Our guys are focused on the task, which is one game at a time."

Game one for the Eagles is Wednesday at South Georgia Technical College.
