Tallahassee Community College men's basketball ranked #1 in State Preseason Polls

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Day one of the junior college hoops season is Wednesday, and the Tallahassee Community College men's basketball team is entering with a lot of hype.

TCC was ranked 12th in the country when last season ended prematurely. El Ellis is the long returner on this year's squad from that team, but he's a good one. Ellis is the top JUCO prospect in the country, and he is already signed with Louisville.

The Eagles are ranked #1 in the State's preseason polls, which were released Monday, but this team knows they have a lot to prove to make that ranking worthy.

"The poll is again, a meaningless poll. Obviously we love it because it's great respect and we love the fact we're getting a little recognition, but we haven't done anything yet," said head coach Zach Settembre. "We're 0-0 just like every team in Florida, every team in the country. Our goal is much bigger than being #1 in the preseason. We want to be there at the end of the year."

TCC opens the season at South Georgia Technical College Wednesday.
