TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Any athletic team will tell you there are three parts to a season; the non-conference season, the conference season, and then the postseason. For Tallahassee Community College basketball programs, we're officially in season two.

Both the Eagle men and women open Panhandle Conference play Saturday, which is arguably the best conference in Junior College basketball.

On the women's side of the ball, the National Champion has hailed from the conference the last five seasons. The Lady Eagles face Gulf Coast Saturday to open Panhandle play. This is a TCC squad that's healthy, and experienced, and despite playing just two games so far this season, they're confident heading in.

"It's the Panhandle. I think the one thing we try to re-communicate over and over again is playing in the Panhandle is just a different speed, a different physicality," said head coach Matt Huddleston. "I think we're prepared, I think we're ready. We've been watching film and we'll get it in tomorrow and we'll get our toes dipped in!"

The Lady Eagles tip at 3:00/ET at Gulf Coast Saturday. The men's game follows.
