TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — High School football is still going down and, for now, so is college although we've seen our first rescheduling in the ACC thanks to COVID-19.

NC State and Virginia Tech were set to open the season on September 12, but thanks to close to two dozen new cases at NC State the two have moved the game to a common bye week on Sept. 26.

Florida State head football coach Mike Norvell talked about the game change Wednesday, saying he expects challenges but the ACC has done a nice job with scheduling.

"We all want it to go as smooth as possible but nobody can see the future," said Norvell. "There's no pre-laid plan in understanding what this will look like. We'll have to adapt and adjust. We were just leaving the field, and the last thing I talked to the guys about was the continued sacrifice of where they're going, what they're doing, what they're willing to sacrifice to play this game that we love."

FSU's first game is still set for Sept. 12.
