Last year's winner for the men's Coach of the Year award was Anthony Grant from the Dayton Flyers.

The Seminoles have a 12-3 overall record with four wins over nationally-ranked teams this season.

Hamilton has not won this specific award yet but did win the Atlantic Coast Conference men's Coach of the Year award for the 2019-2020 basketball season more recently.

He is in his 19th season as the Seminoles’ Head Coach and is the winningest coach in program history with 372 wins during his tenure at Florida State.

A list of 10 National semifinalists will be announced on March 5. Four finalists will be named on March 17. The winner will be announced on April 4.
