TALLAHASSEE, Fl. — The Florida State football team started fall camp on Friday as they gear up for a season which opens on September 12 at home against Georgia Tech.
There have been a lot of high profile college athletes who have opted out of playing this fall for fears over safety, instead, they'll start training for the NFL. For Seminole defensive tackle Marvin Wilson, who chose to come back for his final year, he said sitting out not an option. He has business to finish in Tallahassee.
"I cam too far to turn back around. I put too much work into this program," he said Thursday. "I put so much emphasis into some of these young guys lives. I feel like that'd be a form of quitting in my opinion just to opt out at this last moment right before the season. We worked so hard all together in this off season and with this pandemic in tough times just to give up. I feel like that'd be disrespectful to them, showing them the way of being a true Nole and leaving them at the last minute. I don't work out like that. I'm definitely going to play the season and give it my all."
