TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The Florida A&M football team has a test right out of the gate, as they face the University of Central Florida Thursday night. The Knights are a team that's ranked in the top 25, and a team that's lost one game in the past two years.

Head coach Willie Simmons wouldn't want it any other way. He said he is excited for the challenge, and notes he's trying to build a program with the same mindset UCF has -- they're not afraid to play anyone.

"We'll have our hands full, but again, a great barometer and test for this football team to see how we stack up against bigger, faster, stronger competition," he said Tuesday. "I think it'll show us if the little things we preach on a daily basis will show up on gameday. That's what I'm looking forward to seeing, how this team competes, how we handle adversity because I know we'll see it on the road, and just how we play as a team."

The match-up is set for a 7:30 kickoff on Thursday in Orlando.
