LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - Christopher Walker had 30 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocks to lead Bonifay Springs Holmes County to a 59-40 victory over Quincy West Gadsden in the boys Class 1A state championship basketball game.

Walker, a McDonald's All-American who is committed to Florida, was nearly unstoppable inside, shooting 9-of-12 from the floor and 12-of-16 from the free-throw line.

West Gadsden (24-10) trailed 25-24 after going on a 6-1 run while Walker was on the bench.

Walker only played half of the third period before going back to the bench with his third foul, but this time Holmes County (17-8) held West Gadsden to just three points in the quarter to take a 38-27 lead.

With Holmes County up by 16 in the closing minutes, Walker ended the game with a thunderous slam off a lob pass. Charis Fitzgerald led West Gadsden with 14 points.
