VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - At a called meeting of the Lowndes County Board of Education on January 7, 2020, at 6:00 pm, Lowndes County School Superintendent Wes Taylor introduced the new head football coach at Lowndes High School, Jamey DuBose. Coach Dubose comes to Lowndes High School from Alabama where he was a head football coach for 14 years amassing an impressive record of 137 wins and 40 losses, including multiple Region Championships, two State Runner-Up finishes, and three State Championships.
Superintendent Taylor praised Coach DuBose: “He is a man of faith, a devoted family man, and a motivator who instills character in his student-athletes and utilizes the game of football to mold boys into men. Coach DuBose has a proven formula of success that will afford our football team the opportunity to be competitive at the highest level.”
Coach DuBose stated, “I am excited and honored to be the head football coach at Lowndes High School. It is my goal to provide the quality football program that we will all be proud of and that will complement the tradition this program has been known for throughout the years.” Coach DuBose will begin work at Lowndes High School on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
More than 90 coaches from 20 different states were vetted, including numerous college coaches and high school coaches with multiple state championships.
